Process for Selecting ARB Board Members

1. Upcoming ARB vacancies for the following year will be posted in Harbour Living AND The Windmill Harbour Website(windmillharbour.org) each month starting in August and ending in October. Candidates interested in becoming ARB board members can apply at any time, in writing , to Deanna Anderson, the PAI administrator. The PAI will respond to all interested parties with an acknowledgement letter and information kit, which includes;

1. Request for a resume, including a resume format.
2. Minimum qualifications for candidates;

• i. Owns property in Windmill Harbour

• ii. Resides in WH as a full time resident

• iii. Is available to attend the majority of ARB meetings

• iv. Familiar w/ construction drawings, and basic construction technology

• v. Familiar with Charleston architecture &/or architectural history

• vi. Familiar w/ basic terminology that influences ARB decisions, such as building setbacks, buffers, building heights, MSL, etc.

• vii. Ability to familiarize oneself with ARB guidelines

1. Overview of the selection process;

• i. Candidate Interview by POA/ARB team (2 POA board members and 1 ARB board member).

• ii. Candidate attends a minimum of one ARB meeting.

• iii. POA/ARB team makes recommendations to the POA board.

• iv. POA board votes on candidates to fill open seats.

1. A timetable for the process;

• i. Resume cutoff date: ARB selection date minus 4 months

• ii. Interview cutoff date: ARB selection date minus 3 months

• iii. Candidate attend ARB cutoff date: ARB selection date minus 2 months

• iv. POA/ARB recommendation cutoff date: ARB selection date – 1 month ARB candidate selection date: 2 nd POA meeting of the New Year.
